With papa being in the Army, Bobbo has studied in many schools. The first school where he attended his kindergarten was in Army Primary School in Nasik. I remember how he had wept for the first 3 days and after that, he got used to it and started enjoying his classes. Also they used to have this star rating system for students and he always used to get the highest stars in his class. And that year, he got the first prize of his life, he had stood first in his class and he got a nice prize and 100 Rs. Cash.

 
After that prize, whenever we discussed about money, he would say.. you can use my 100 Rs. For him, his 100 Rs. Was really a very big amount. We went to Nasirabad, and there, he studied in Army Public School in Nasirabad Cantt. His class teacher was Mrs. Beniwal.  She was very fond of Bobbo. One day Bobbo, came back from school and he was very excited. When mom asked what happened, he said that his ma’m gave him punishment. He was very happy about it as he had seen his classmates getting punishment all the time but he was never punished in his life and finally when he got punished, it was a big achievement for him. Then mom explained that it is not good to get punishment. When asked why he got the punishment, he told that, he and his friend rubbed chalk powder on a girl’s face as she was very dark and they wanted to make her fair. Apparently the girl was very tolerant while they were rubbing chalk on her face, but when they also started covering her hands she started crying. When their class teacher, Mrs. Beniwal found this out she punished them. She made them stand on the bench.During our Nasirabad stay, in our unit parties, he used to often dance on this song..” tu cheez badi hai mast mast…”He did the same song in his college function also and was so excited about it..

I also remember that one day he had come to school and was asking us that why his teacher told “Outstanding” to him when he was never standing outside the class.While he was in Barnes,Devlali, it was fun to see his overall personality development. And I guess this is the place where he sort of started being an all rounder. Since it was a boarding school, we were also thinking of putting him in boarding when papa got transferred to Amritsar. But it would have been difficult for all of us to be away from him, so the idea was dropped.

When we were in Amritsar, he went to DAV Public School in Amritsar and he had to learn Punjabi as it was a compulsory subject and we all were learning the Punjabi alphabets with him. He was always good in drawing and coloring and used to participate in all drawing competitions and he used to always get prizes for the same. He was very artistic and creative right from his childhood. Whenever papa would take him to his unit on holidays, he would say.. Uncle don’t move, I am making your sketch and they all liked it and always used to appreciate his talent.

We believe that he enjoyed the most in his last school i.e. Army Public School,Pune and he spent quiet a good time over here and also he had very good friends. He always used to be the peacemaker among his friends. Whenever his friends would fight, he would try to do the patch up and would try to convince each one of them separately and mom used to listen to his calls and would often comment…’tere doston ke jhagre sulzane mein hi humara telephone ka bill jyada aata hoga’. He was always a peace loving person who used to enjoy each and every moment. His had a good sense of humor and he enjoyed cracking PJs all the time.

Bobbo was Sports captain in his school,APS Pune and used to participate in all the sports activities. He has also played lot of soccer tournaments representing his school in Inter School matches.

A previous band member of CHORDAMAGE he created havoc among the listeners by including a pathetic beat in the charttopper ballad “GUNS & MAGGOTS”!! That was his last mistake though! As he stepped off into the directions of symphonies & acoustic guitar solos along with his pal & assistant ABHIJIT KANTI DEB in anew band by the name INSOMNIA!

 Bikram Hussain:Ram was one of the most amazing guys I have ever known. I cannot think of anything he lacked - he was an excellent athlete, great student with a brilliant mind, really creative, very funny, but most of all, very humble and a true friend. I had amazing times with him on the school football team, he used to make everyone laugh and it’s still hard for me to believe he’s gone. May his soul rest in peace.
We all love you Ram, you were an awesome person.
